Samsung has rolled out the Android 5.0.2 OS update to its flagship Galaxy tab S 8.4. The Galaxy tab S 8.4 is one of the best compact  Android tablets around.. At first, it was just the WI-Fi only versions receiving the lollipop update, but now even the LTE-equipped models are getting the same treatment too.
Of course, this does not immediately apply to all regions. Some places get it first like Hong Kong, while others have to wait weeks, even months in some cases before they can enjoy the upgrade.
The update files are currently available over the air and users can already  start reaping the benefits. Samsung is rolling this out in phases around the world, but everybody should be able to avail of it within the month.
Image result for lollipop update for samsung galaxy tab s 8.4The update to the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 will include the features you would expect from a lollipop upgrade such as new quick settings toggles, new improved recents menu for easier multitasking, multi-user support, guest user, screen pinning, Android Runtime (ART) full support, native battery-saving mode, intelligent notifications ranking and improved security. They also bring lots of touchwiz improvements and bolder and more colorful interface elements.
Since Samsung is not exactly known for being quick on the draw when it comes to Android updates, people have been eagerly awaiting this one. Not so much with their handsets because that has improved some over the years, but the tablet is a different animal altogether. They have been slow to push out Lollipop. It could seriously take weeks before it rolls out to everybody. If you cannot wait any longer, check out Samsung Kies for the update.  This might speed up the process.
The user experience will be much better as they have done major tweaks on the old Kitkat builds. The improvement will be noticeable and as promised, it will be more enjoyable to use. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is a much more pleasant experience with the Android 5.0.2 update. I would not go so far to say night and day, but the difference is huge.
